If Pioli isn't fired then I'm quitting on the franchise, and Hunt needs to realize the only reason he's owner is because of his father, not because of anything he's done.

But to make things interesting, if the Chiefs did take Jarvis Jones, what happens to Houston? Dude has been great these past 2 seasons, and may be a FA this upcoming off season, right?

The Piloli thing to do would be to let a proven young player go to FA, and draft a replacement who has never played a down in the NFL, because he's cheaper.

In reality, that is also the Clark thing to do.  Have you seen the cap space?

Ya, we really do have a ton of cap room.  We shouldn't be losing any good FA's...but...

I don't blame Pioli for all of this in so much as him not making a decision.  I blame him that he basically seems to be running the organization on popular opinion.  Fire Herm, bring in Cassel, hire Haley, get rid of Haley, Keep Crennel were all decisions that a majority of the fanbase supported.  If he can't stand up to or do better than a fan poll on Chiefs.com would, then he needs to go.

I'd say it begins and ends with Cassel. He's gone from a Pro Bowler 2 seasons ago, to getting benched for Brady Quinn. It also hurts that their draft classes have been hugely disappointing, although not a total bust. Haley was unfortunate w/ injuries, but it wasn't like he ever helped himself keep the job. Crennel has now proven he's a great D Coordinator, but a terrible Head Coach.

To go on w/ Jarvis Jones, what is the Chiefs best angle? They're set at outside LB, which is what Jones plays. Maybe draft him and then do a trade? Should the Chiefs just go way over the average and be completely loaded in the LB position and move Houston to the inside?

Chiefs need to try to acquire assets to trade for a high draft pick next year, imo.  That may mean signing Vick/Sanchez or some level of crap at QB.  Could make a run a Flynn possibly, but he is still a question mark at best.  I would think you have to trade this draft pick for multiple picks next year, if you can get a somewhat decent deal (isn't worth near as much as Redskins #2 last year).  Then just resign yourself to a tanked next year, try to have 5 picks in the top 2 rounds with one near the top, and overpay current good, young players to sell them on sticking around through it.

pioli is ultimately responsible for all of that. he's a failure. the only single sane decision is to fire him. period.

Just so we are clear, Cassel was never very good.  He was an alternate for the Pro Bowl that year, and even that was fairly undeserved.  His QBR was 52, 50 being average.  He just happened to have a rather skewed TD / INT ratio.

Why is Brady Quinn still on any NFL roster, let alone starting for the Chiefs?  He is the worst QB I can remember.

Well, they are 30 minutes away from being on the clock.

In 30 minutes, the media gang bang in KC begins, and it won't let up until at least the draft.

This is going to be fun.

He has to be out.  They won't have a televised home game next year if he's not.
Chiefs fans are the biggest dumbasses I know of. No matter what happens this offseason, you will all be predicting playoffs.

Brodie Croyle was dog crap. I think Croyle & Quinn are tied for the worst.

Pioli can't survive, can he?  What is the decision he has made that has improved the team?  Drafting Justin Houston?

Would take w/ the condition that someone else is responsible for calling timeouts. Don't care who, but Andy Reid should not have control of the timeouts in any game.

Well, I've given up now. Is it possible to start a movement to eliminate nepotism when it comes to ownership of a NFL team?
