There is no reason for the NFL to announce a plan before this week's games have wrapped up

They'll announce by Friday afternoon. They don't want a weekend of games with speculation on every broadcast about if Bengals/Bills game will be made up or not. Also, those two teams need to know before they play Sunday if they'll have one more regular season game or not. There are a lot of reasons to announce a plan.

Actually if the chiefs win tomorrow, the Bengals are irrelevant. If the chiefs win and bills lose, conf champ game would be at arrowhead

My surprise level at the NFL not forcing this game to be played is 7/7 clinkscales. There is no precedent of them ever doing this

Kind of amaze they played a full schedule in 2020 when teams had Covid left and right too. It's unusual but I get it. I think it was the right move.

I've not seen this mentioned, but my idea is dynamic seeding based on winning %. If everything holds this weekend, KC is #1 and gets a first round bye. But, if Buffalo wins their first round game, they will then regain the #1 seed (winning% are equal, and I think Buffalo wins the tiebreaker?). That would = championship game in Buffalo. Teams will have played the same number of games, and seedings would be based on results of games, which seems fair.
