Imagine going to a chiefs game, as a chiefs fan, watching the super bowl banner go up, seeing the troph, and booing the team before the game even starts.

Michigancat- that would've happened in any NFL city, including Seattle or San Fran. JMHO.

maybe but probably not. I don't think Kaep ever got booed in Santa Clara and the reception was different wherever he went (and Kape kneeling was much more objectionable than a "moment of unity"). I bet a place like ATL or New Orleans with a lot more black fans wouldn't have let the boos be heard or would have shamed the racists into silence. yeah most NFL crowds are pretty white and racist but they aren't all the same.

can someone explain to me how a group of people wanting to end racism is considered to be political?

You'd have to go to Johnson County and ask around, probably.

Disagree.  I love listening to him on KMAN talk about some guy who barely made the 53 and how he's going to be utilized.

If he was truly "there to watch football" would he be dressing himself up like a clown each week to draw attention?

Mitch is really the worst thing about the Chiefs.

Mitch is just far too contrived for my taste.

It's at least 10x what it was when he first started as PbyP at K-State.

I laughed when they showed video of him grabbing a cue card and reading off a string of Mitchisms  at the end of the AFC Champ Game.  It was all scripted and practiced.

I agree.  He really thinks everything he says is "gold" because he will just keep repeating it.

If a show of unity gets these idiots to stay home then I'd say it's been even more successful than anyone could have wanted.

For most people loving America and that type of showy patriotic stuff was never political. It only becomes political when people, especially publicly, start suggesting that America isn’t so great. That’s a personal affront to a lot of people.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I think being scripted is pretty common with local guys doing historic games.  Mitch would openly talk about the calls he had ready to go if the Chiefs won the AFC/SB.

That said, I don't think the call was particularly good there.

And Mitch is amaze. He’s a dork and his overused sayings are ridiculous, but how can you not embrace a nerd like that? He loves the chiefs, just like me and my chiefs buds.

Your average NFL season ticket holder is a blue collar guy, without a college degree, who works construction or something else like that. They don’t have a college affiliation through actual experience and this makes their week. Especially in the South/Midwest. Not trying to make excuses for these durps, just trying to give you the demographic of these guys, who feel like they’re owed something by attending every week, watching millionaires play a sport, and paying for something out of their budget. It’s the only place they can share their aggression if things aren’t going accordingly.

You live in a lib world Mecca destination. I’m just trying to bring you back home on why these confederate flag lovers act the way they do. I love the Chiefs, but it’s really gross to attend at times.

Agreed, Mitch can be a little over the top sometimes with his sunshine pumping and corny nicknames but he is a great announcer for the home team.
