i disagree that he will be a 3rd down back. usually that role goes to a vet that they trust in pass protection. he is going to start, and he is going to get touches on 1st down. will it work out? maybe! i hope so!

They really tried to force him into another touchdown.

He would have deserved it of he would have scored on one of his 6 attempts inside the 5.

Yeah, Darrel should be our goal line guy.

Yeah, Darrel should be our goal line guy.
They should have just let Pat run or throw it.  Not that they should have been concerned about scoring, he would have just done it on 3rd down, like he did.

I kept waiting for a toss or swing pass outside since the inside wasn't working but oh well.

I agree that no one was scoring on those goal line runs, but it also appears that short inside yardage is not going to be a CEH strength. And that is OK.

It looked like they were waiting to see where JJ Watt lined up and then run it right toward him.

question for everyone: when did "chiefs kingdom" become a thing? I don't remember it when I lived in KC like 10 years ago and didn't pay attention to the Chiefs again until last season

Thoughts on the game:

1. The pre-game unity thing was so tame and frankly a-political, it was disappointing to hear any boos, but not unexpected. This thread explains it some of the in stadium confusion too.

https://twitter.com/adampaulcooper/status/1304281037929930753?s=20

Michigancat- that would've happened in any NFL city, including Seattle or San Fran. JMHO.

2. Andy's face shield was amaze/incred. I can't get over it. I was crackin' every time they showed him.
3. I don't know who will be able to slow this offense. They brought the whole thing back and upgraded at RB. Patrick looks totally relaxed, and for a team without preseason reps, they only had a few out of sync moments. I bet once you see the rest of the league and how sloppy some offense will look, the Chiefs performance will be more impressive.
4. D-Line looked good, secondary looked good enough, and we only need an above average D most weeks.
5. The fake crowd noise (they had extra crowd noise pumped in) is so dumb. I don't hate it as much as I hate it in baseball, but I still hate it.
6. 19-0 is totally in play.

I love the Chiefs.

Mitch invented it. He started using it in the early 2000s I think but it took a while to catch on. He's so herp derpy about it. If a player is from anywhere from Nebraska, Oklahoma, the Dakotas, Iowa, etc. he'll be like "Jones was born in Fargo- he hails from the kingdom."

It was a thing back in the 60's/70's too I'm pretty sure, but has only come back to popularity the last few years. I think part of it is trying to get St Louis on board.

I do find it p funny that people are upset about sports being political when we've had 100 yard flags and God Bless America and flyovers and salute to service and all that for like 100 years. I mean, come on guys.

maybe but probably not. I don't think Kaep ever got booed in Santa Clara and the reception was different wherever he went (and Kape kneeling was much more objectionable than a "moment of unity"). I bet a place like ATL or New Orleans with a lot more black fans wouldn't have let the boos be heard or would have shamed the racists into silence. yeah most NFL crowds are pretty white and racist but they aren't all the same.
