I was glad to hear SSJ and NB this morning finally off the Alex Smith train.  They were destroying him pretty good.

and when the chiefs finally do win a playoff game, you are going to be all "told you so" but it will be more of a broken clock being right twice a day thing than you being some sort of prophet. at least there were people who knew the royals had a window from 2013-2016 and were optimistic because of that
Meh. They've been predicting the Royals resurgence in the farm club for the last 10 years.

And only two playoff appearances. It's easy to improve your record when you've been the laughing stock of baseball for the last 30 years.

Remember when Alex Smith tried to run 45 yards for a TD at the end of the half instead of throwing it to the end zone?

I remember that play.  I just meant Grbac, because we'd need a hail mary for the win and instead, he'd dump it off to the flats for a 15 yard gain to pad his stats. He did that all the time!

the chiefs have a lot of talent, no one should dispute that
they also have a below average, overpaid QB, an aging RB who can't possibly do more for his team and can't do it much longer, a terrible OL, 1 WR, and a rough ridin' weird offense play caller

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

since you want to talk royals in the chiefs thread, i'd love to. the royals were great from 75-85, good from 86-94, and bad from 95 on, bottoming out in 2004-2006 being the worst.

How'd they fix it? Organizational shift. They began valuing things they hadn't prior to 2006. Scouting, Latin American signings, trading players to build depth, athleticism, hard throwing relievers, drafting based on talent not sign-ability, optimism, valuing things other teams devalued (contact hitting, speed) and spending money in free agency. It took too long IMO, and there were some dumb speed bumps (Trey Hillman, Jose Guillen, etc) but they got it done. It took some luck in October last year, but they got it done.

The Chiefs refuse to become modern and change. They refuse to value the draft, value quarterback play, and refuse to hire anything but retread coaches.

I am a Chiefs fan, I want them to play well and win, but they never NEVER change. Never.

Fun fact about Tynes:

He's married to MS. Wackys best friends sister. He moved back to KC when his career was done and I've been to a couple of his pool parties. His downstairs is a man cave with all of his Super Bowl memorabilia and a huge movie screen that takes up a whole wall.
