The idiots running the Chiefs probably didn't even think of that. :shakesfist:

i'm just not that knowledgable about contracts and off-season stuff and am curious what all the options were for getting rid of him

Thought Winston was garbage. Draft LJ move Albert to RT.

Seems like there are plenty of journeyman second string guys out there. Pick up a Gus Frerotte or someone like that and pay him to back up, no reason to pay Cassell starting QB money to hold a clipboard. Also, most Chiefs fans would flip their crap if he actually had to take the field in the event of an injury.

Drafting jockel (sp) and moving Albert to RT

And you have the luxury of putting Joekel at RT if he takes a while to acclimate to the league.

I understand the money part, that is why you tell matt he can restructure or get cut.  As for the flipping of crap by the fans, I don't know.  I mean, you recall the other guys we have had backing us up for the last 5 yrs?

Heard rumors that the Chiefs are "very interested" in signing Jake Long (former LT with the Dolphins) and considering having Stephenson as the starting RT.  This would mean that they are more than likely interested in trading B Albert for a 2nd? round pick...and that multiple teams are interested in that him (Chicago, Detroit, St Louis).

Would love that scenario, assuming that Stephenson is a legit NFL tackle...this would allow us to not only get back into the 2nd round but it would also give us flexibility again regarding the #1 pick.

And his durability issues, which were a result of shoulder, back, knee, triceps and biceps injuries, had become problematic considering he didn't finish the past two seasons.

Quote
Four of those offensive linemen - Texas A&M's Luke Loeckel, Cnetral Michigan's Eric Fisher, Oklahoma's Lane Johnson and Alabama's D.J. Fluker are projected as first rounders. And if the Dolphins selected one in the first two round that player's entire contract would be a fraction of what Long earned last season ($11.2 million).

I think I'd rather stick with Alberts or draft a LT. :dunno:

Yep.  Albert where he is, Stephensen on right, draft some OL's in the 3rd and later rounds and buy one in FA.  We have what we need to start.

O-Line should not be a concern at this point.  It could be improved, but we need so much more help at WR, TE, DL, CB and S.  And QB.

I think Albert is getting traded.  Some NFL guy talked like his value could be late 1st even.  I tend to think Albert's value at this point is much higher than his production.  Given that Dorsey wants to draft best available, I think he is going to find a way to get Joekel.

Get Joekel, trade Albert for a later round 1st, then draft a DT or Corner.  Would take.

Drafting a DT late in the 1st would mean giving up on Poe, wouldn't it? Considering he was the previous staff's pick I can understand if they don't like him, but I'd rather they take a DB w/ that hypothetical pick.

Also - what is the Chiefs starting OL at this point? Asamoah, Hudson, Albert, Stephenson, and who else?

Wouldn't be opposed to taking a QB late in the first, I just don't want them taking one first overall.

If we end up with two firsts, one of them should def be a qb.

Will take. If we didn't have a pud quarterback, we'd be shaping up to be pretty good.

One of the articles I read said Robinson struggled in coverage lately but was still good against the run so he could be used as a safety...
