yeseterday's Sampadoria / Werder Bremen 2nd leg match was incredible.  Samp goes up 4-3 on aggregate in the 85th minute from a sweet little touch by Cassano.  Bremen comes back 3 minutes into stoppage time and ties it up sending into extra time.  another golazo from Bremen in the first half of stoppage time gives them the final advantage of 5-4 on the aggregate.  was hoping for the Italian side to go through but not too disappointed to be able to watch more of this German side in the group stages.  Pizzaro will be fun to watch for them.

Anderlecht losing on penalty kicks was hilarious.  they would have won if it was an extra point contest

come on Young Boys of Bern!

Draw starting in 2 mins. Probably a bunch of UEFA selflove-fest crap for the first 15 mins though.

Valencia is in big financial trouble.  wouldn't be surprised at all to see Rangers go thru.

AC Milan vs Madrid on Tuesday

just like last year these 2 European club giants were drawn together in the group stage.  and again the draw resulted in them facing off on match-days 3 (in Madrid) & 4 (in Milan).  on match-day 3 of last year Milan @ Madrid won 3-2.   both clubs eventually advanced out of the group stage.

lot of hype for this game. but I see this game as kind of a bore.  Mourinho managed sides always seems to take a bit or air out of the ball and slow things down.  but star power alone makes it watchable: Pato, Robinho, Ronaldinho, & Ibrahimovic in the Milan attack vs Ronaldo, Ozil, & Higuain in the Madrid attack.

i was pretty happy with the draw because i thought we could definitely finish second, but i couldnt have predicted what happened

bremen without ozil is not intimidating, and twente just hasnt played well, same with inter

inter isn't the same w/o Rafa at the helm.  none of the players want to play for him.  they were spoiled getting to play for el uno especial

agreed, a lot of people seem to think that rafa wont even be there for the knockout round, so i am interested to see if anything happens
