Best Burger in town at a sit down restaurant is Annies, as Saul points out.  Best fast food burger is currently the Pad Burger, but used to be the Buddy Burger.

Fact:  The Pad (elite North Topeka fast food burger joint) is owned by the same family that owned Buddy's  (previously located on 10th street across from the hospitals), but after Buddy's was taken over by their son (a would-be heavy weight boxing contender, Dangerous Damon Reed), it folded.

Buddy's served RC Cola!

Now they are a fast food Mexican restaurant named "Andale!" - I haven't tried it yet.

Pad is still around in N. Topeka.  They had a location at 21st and Washburn for awhile but folded.

Andale closed.   Never went, but it was silently owned by the Casa guy, so it was basically Casa without the buffet.
Casa is garbage.  One of the worst locally owned places in town that draws a good crowd, since China Inn closed down.

true.      Do like the black bean chicken burrito at Tequila's and also the meican style tacos at the place in the old Pizza Hut at 29th and Fairlawn.

Give Banjo's another chance, especially if you like Biscuits and Gravy.

That's exactly what I had at Banjo's -biscuits and gravy.  It was bad.  Hanover reigns supreme in that department.

ugh, just tried theirs last weekend.....bland and biscuits were like rocks.  Literally, the top half cracked and shattered when I attacked it with my fork.

probably the best place in town for B&G is the Billard Airport Cafe, but I never get up that way.

surprisingly they aren't that good.  it's odd.  Kind of like that Topeka drinks more Tuaca per capita than the rest of the world.

It was about 5 years ago that the Applebee's in Topeka had more business than any other Applebee's in the country other than the one in Times Square.

Fact (:dunno:):  At least through the early 90's Topeka had both the most psychiatrists, and crazy people, per capita of any city in the world.

Don't know if we have any oldtimers on the board but my old man used to frequent a scuzzy little bar called Brewskies, right by Washburn.  I used to go down there and drink pitchers of soda and play video games while he got drunk and played darts with his buddies.  Pops had a drinkin' problem.

We need to have an elite goEMAW dinner party here at some point:

http://rowhouserestaurant.net/

I was concerned when it didn't show up on your restaurant picks but then I didn't really see a category for it.  If you haven't been there yet Saul, you're doing yourself a disservice

Topeka once changed its name to "Google"

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Topeka is the original home of the mad magazine character.  It was an advertisment for a Topeka dentist.
