The Phog thinks he's already gone. Nobody with this level of success would ever stay at KSU.

Never say never I guess, but it's hard to imagine what it would take to pull him away.

When is the last time a successful head coach was poached away from K-State? Huggins didn't even make the tournament when he was here and Frank was basically run out of town.

I'm not even remotely worried about him leaving after this year.

Yeah, like which school that is "above" us is going to get him? We're going to price him out of all but the blue bloods/top 15ish programs. I think his loyalty for giving him a chance will keep him here for a bit.

We don't have to do this. The longer run we have this year, the more of our fans will realize that we don't have to entertain this at all. Our collective fan base has the worst case of imposter syndrome, of all time.

Yeah, the days of Lon leaving because we cut the hoops' budget to invest in football are long gone.

We’ll pay Tang (and Klieman) whatever we need to. We’re entering the true golden age of Cat sports. And it’s not … it’s not one to be taken lightly.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

This is what makes it so ridiculous. The Phoggy's mantra has always been that you can't recruit to Manhattan, but when a coach recruits, at minimum, a nearly complete Elite Eight team in a few months, he will immediately leave because it's Manhattan. So dumb.

Jerome Tang has us on the cusp of the greatest season in our lifetimes (apologies to Tom).

Not since 1964 have we been to the final four.  The tournament was only 16 teams at that time, and required only 2 wins to make the final four.

We finished 3rd in the historically difficult Big 12, while capturing wins against every team in the conference, including KU.

The reality is that we are one of the easiest places to win at in America. Frank Martin came in with zero experience and built an elite 8 team in just a few years. Then he left and look at him now. oscar Weber was able to win the best conference in basketball twice and take another team to the elite 8. If it weren't for Woodridge being one of the shittiest coaches to ever blow a whistle and oscar deciding to make losing his entire identity a few years ago, seasons like this would be the expectation. Tang is going to make a habit of winning and he would be insane to leave.

I think he could, he just didn't. I knew it could have gone either way before the game, did you not know that?

When you get good seeds your opportunities to make the final 4 frequently seem incredible.

Lol neither could Oscar and he was an awkward boomer loser incapable of recruiting/retaining talent.  No doubt he would have lost Pack to Miami regardless, but hey he didn’t get a haircut so 💪
