Add me to the most likely driving list.  I don't fly out until Friday early morning.  I will probably make my final decision by tomorrow night.

Hopefully they just cancel you early if it is going to happen. I just buttoned down our drive plan, so glad they didn't wait until tomorrow to tell me.

Stopping in Little Rock.

That is my hope as well (that I know early).  I hate driving.  I was also thinking of staying in LR.

Effing southwest. Looks like I'm driving.

Supposed to be staying in Memphis tomorrow night, not loving that with the Liberty Bowl also tomorrow. Was going to try to push to get to Jackson, MS but they have a boil order :frown:

Glad we didn’t bother with airfare. Also just cancelled our refundable hotel last minute and booked a slight upgrade right next to it for $100 less. Thank goodness Bama fans are too poor to make the trip.

This is starting to feel like Cotton bowl vs. Arkansas. We think no other fans will be there then show up at the stadium and get Woo pig sooie'd everywhere I looked

I'm expecting Bama to try some late bullshit to avoid the game, like "oh the weathers's to brutal to travel" or "all us anti-vaxxers done got Covid." Any murmurs along those ines?

I'd suggest you KC drivers rip down to Bossier City for a night at the casino. Then an easy drive down 49 to 10.

This would add another hour or 2 to your trip. I think most KC cats have casinos around them. Not sure that gambling itch is worth it to most people, plus Shreveport is a dump.

Two Questions

1. Backup plan is to drive if our flight gets cancelled. Our hotel is some small bougie place in the quarter and does not have parking. Where is a good/safe spot to park near the quarter/downtown? If we do have to drive down we probably won't go back to the car until we leave.

2. What sportsbars would you recommend in the French Quarter if I wanted to watch some CFP games after the katz win?

What if you like to gamble and one of your favorite bands has a song called Bossier City? Huh? HUH?!? YOU EVER HEARD OF THAT ONE STAN.

(Probably not going to stop in Bossier City if we do have to drive but I appreciated the tip)

I parked here using Spot Hero last summer. No issues.

Ben Ji, get in the car tomorrow. That flight isn’t happening.

Everywhere in NO is practically a sports bar. I’d just go to Pat O Bryan’s  after the game. Regroup with the squad. Watch the first half of the first playoff game and walk around to your next adventure at halftime.

I jammed to that on the way to Bossier City when you tweeted that a few weeks ago. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

Backup plan is to leave Thursday around 5pm and drive for 5-6 hours before getting a hotel for the night. Our hotel in naw leans doesn't start until friday night so it should be pretty easy but I'm still holding out hope that our flight is on...wont have to pull the trigger until thursday evening.

Ok, cool. Just giving you a heads up tho, that casino in New Orleans is like a $25 minimum best for Blackjack. I can only imagine what the poker minimum would be. Stay away from Canal street.

It's rare that I gamble there. Stupid craps table minimum on the weekends. They were running four or five $50 tables and one $15 table at 10p last trip. Hard pass on that nonsense.

The first hotel I checked in new orleans was the harrahs and rooms were like 1k a night for NYE weekend :surprised:

I dont plan on doing any gaming but if the Katz win I may OD on pure joy and feel invincible until I give up a couple fun coupons to the casino gods.

Bourbon st itself doesn't have any of what I'd call great sports bars (good seating lots of TV's  sound, etc). Most will have a tv playing a game but not really focused on sports watching.  Pats inside one of their rooms maybe does as wacky said . Should be able to duck in and out of them to find something. Sneaky petes, copper monkey , alibi have good tv setups. Look down on the bourbon cross streets for bars, those are the ones that are more like a traditional dive bar with TV's behind the bar.
