Pro-tip: wear your midwesterny/plains speak like a badge of honor.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I also blame my Western Kansas born and bred mom for teaching me the wrong pronunciations of certain words, and I've spent my life trying to purify my language from her early crimes. "Pellow" instead of pillow. Oh, hello, pellow! AY-g instead of egg. Excetera...
I just realized I have been pronouncing pillow wrong all my life

Mennonites are very tidy. Most admirable Christian faith imo.

"What time did you get left" (regarding what time did you leave, maybe very family specific)

I have never heard that

"clean house" is used by like everyone but usually it's used metaphorically

This was bait for me. It drives me crazy.

Also, Phil - I could add more but it will just turn into us shitting on the in-laws.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

I know two women who are from Alaska and they are from two cities that are 1,400 miles apart. They both pronounce milk “melk.” This unforgivable sin reaches beyond simply the midwest.

Ha, this as going to be my add as well. It doesn't even make sense.

Also, some east coast friends of mine pointed out that people in KC say "Kans City" when referring to Kansas City. I never noticed it before, but they are absolutely correct. Now I can't unhear it when people say it.

I just realized that I say "HUNt-N" instead of "Hun-ting" .

This applies to any similar combination of sounds. For example, you surely say "Mount-n" instead of "Moun-tain".
