think similar has been done before, but peacemill

it's mindblowing how you can set something on a windowseal but if the window is leaky you might say it doesn't have a very good sill

Somehow I went most of my life without saying Ope but within the last 10 years or so it just started happening.

I have never noticed this as unique to anywhere I've lived but it's an interesting question so I googled its origin

I don't think we can stop saying this.  What do people not from the Midwest say?  That seems more weird.

Sometimes I use a good "pardon me".

"Do you have any grey poupon?"
"Pardon me, let me squeeze right through here. Thank you!" I'm very polite, but ope is less wordy and useful and explains the situation perfectly.

crick instead of creek
warsh instead of wash
also phil.. with all due respect, what the eff

Crick is not Midwest/plains, it’s southern/hill-country.

Creek is. Similar to See-ment for cement.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.
