the fact that underwood was thought of as a grand slam hire and sure thing, it's amazing that tang has made us forget about him.

underwood definitely isn't as sure of a thing as we thought. he got exposed a bit - what's he going to be without cockburn? and the more we find out about tang, the higher his ceiling appears to be. all this at a big discount that'll let him find some great assistants and recruit$. plus he wants to be here even more than sweaty undies, and probably would finish out his coaching career here, even if he were very successful.

I could see a Texas school stealing him away down the line if he’s wildly successful, but I definitely think Tang was a great hire because of (1) the upside, and (2) you can tell he’s inherently loyal. As long as KSU treats him right it would be really tough for a school to steal him away. That’s what I’m more excited about than anything. If he starts succeeding here it will be a wild ride.
