Correct. I don't think it would be prudent for an athletic director to write any nil promises in a coaching contract, for multiple reasons.

I honestly have no clue has all this stuff is working out.  It feels like the wild west right now. 

I just remember when he agreed to his new contract, at the tail end of the Arkansas talk, I heard that Tang was adamant about his staff getting raises and a much larger commitment to NIL in order for him to agree to stay.  Not sure how that all works with NIL being donations and not part of AD.

I've been curious about this, too. Because you hear about Coach Cal getting some guaranteed number. But that wouldn't seem to comport with the rules. Is it just a wink wink nudge nudge say no more type thing?
