I am a little disappointed that we're not going to make the grifters pay back the money - hell, we made the Brits pay us back for lend-lease.  But to borrow a phrase from Hillary Clinton when she was explaining away how she got a US Ambassador and CIA operatives killed in Libya as they recruited Jihadists to send to Syria (and allegedly try to track down some stinger missiles that were in the wrong hands). . . at this point what difference does it make.

Hopefully this occurs and then we can get on to a peace deal . . . no matter how much that will piss off the armchair neocons/#neocongE

Can you TLDR this thing for me? Are we at least getting the rare earth mineral portion? I don't see this as a step closer to a peace deal since Russia has no incentive to end the war currently.

looks like we just agreed to a new minerals deal

key Points:

\- The agreement is an equal Partnership with 50/50% share. key-point, for the US possible **future military aid** is counted as a contribution to the fund

\- Ukraine retains full control over all infrastructure, subsoil and resources itself, their contribution to the found comes exclusively from future mineral-licenses

\- No US aid provided prior to signing is counted as part of the fund, only new stuff

\- The Fund must invest into reconstruction & infrastructure in Ukraine for 10 years

\- Relevant tarriffs between the US & Ukraine are reduced to Zero, and the US pledges to attract further parties to invest into the Fund if possible

Ukranian mineral deal, substantial pressure against Russian proxy states, working to move India away from purchasing weapons systems from Russia, targeting shadow fleets etc. etc. etc.
