the leopards will probably be in action within 3-4 months.  the abrams aren't going to be used for much longer.  i've seen eight months, but i bet it will be more like a year+.

I wonder what the catchy reference will be for the Leopards?

In a battle of Democratic Germany's tanks vs Autocratic Russia's tanks, I know which side I am on.

Pete thinks it’s going to be Kursk 1943 all over again.

Or something out of Red Storm Rising.  Where Clancy assured his readers that all NATO/US weapons systems worked flawlessly 98% of the time.

LMAO

It’s going to take the entire globe to beat the Russians?

$4 trillion plus in global defense spending  (excluding Russia) and they might get the Russians out of Ukraine some day.

That is our only good tank name, Germany's been top of that list since WW2.

Like I’ve said. The US hasn’t invaded or fought a war against anyone that had more than a ragtag demoralized sanction laden military since Korea, maybe Vietnam. Most of the time of late it’s been old Toyotas and piles of rocks.

The Russians have captured more of Ukraine and continue to capture more of Ukraine.

Your world view is shaped by the U.S. Air Force establishing air dominance over Afghanistan and defeating the Taliban's air force of none.

now that I think about it, it might have been nice for the Germans to move away from naming their tanks after predatory cats in the post-Nazi era.

Naming tanks after Civil War generals (esp Sherman) is great.

I'm sure the United States could probably figure out a way to get Ukraine to surrender if we really wanted that to happen.

Looks like the tank transfer is turning the US into a pariah state. Seriously, it looks like Tucker, Lavrov, MTG, TFG and the North Koreans are all using the same set of idiotic talking points.

Quote
Kim said the Biden administration was “further crossing the red line” by sending its main tanks to Ukraine and that the decision reflects a “sinister intention to realize its hegemonic aim by further expanding the proxy war for destroying Russia.”

“The U.S. is the arch criminal which poses serious threat and challenge to the strategic security of Russia and pushes the regional situation to the present grave phase,” she said.

“I do not doubt that any military hardware the U.S. and the West boast of will be burnt into pieces in the face of the indomitable fighting spirit and might of the heroic Russian army and people,” she said, adding that North Korea will always “stand in the same trench” with Russia.

The first paragraph of his statement is spot on, and I for one fervently support it.

Dear Ukraine- Your stripped down tanks will be there in 6 to 8 months

(Normal crew training is 5 months with 2 additional months of field stuff).
