I am a deal maker by nature. I might trade my top running back before the fantasy season even starts, for example.

I keep thinking about what Patton said during the Battle of the Bulge, about the Germans in a meat grinder and he had his hands on the handle. The Russians do not seem to be that good at this kind of war, but you can bet they will try to change that. What the Yooks are doing is integrating tactical drones and precision artillery with US satellite data, which is levels above what the Russians have.

This gives them a battlefield view that is both precise and deadly. In addition, they can better plan their logistics for a battle, and can stunt the Russian supply lines. They are playing electronic warfare very well, both from data acquisition and forward combat implementations.

It is almost making-up for a lack of heavies, such as main battle tanks to break Russian lines. So, they use spit and string and high technology and….planning the enemy’s mistakes to keep things on an even keel.

By “last” you mean…

The war in Ukraine. Mils will be planning for that, which by the time those plans are implemented, it will be the “last” war, or at least we hope so. It is hard to plan for a future war that is devoid of the events of the last one. But, it seems here the US had done that pretty well, compared to the Russians anyway.

The Yooks are getting positional info on company level elements. I ask them where it comes from, they just smile. They know as well as I do it is from satellite overflights, comm intercepts and humint stuff.
