There are reports of Ukraine strikes on the convoy.

It will get tricky when they start to try to encircle Kyiv because they will get stretched out and their communication sucks.

Wow, that website is like Waze, but for war. Interesting.

I'll echo what was said above that Russia rough ridin' up something as fundamental as food and fuel is both unsurprising and surprising. What were they doing for weeks leading up to invasion, if not staging for this exact situation?

I mean you are talking about the heirs of a country that everyone knew was going to be invaded by Germany and they still acted surprised when it happened

It's amazing, it is down quite a bit but now they have some ddos protection on it.  I watched the battle of mosul every day, you could see each block being taken.  You can go back and look over time as well.  I mean, you can see the attempt at encirclement happening in nearly real time.

I have not dined on the worlds finest MRE’s.  However, there have been videos circulating that the MRE’s expired in 2015.  I don’t know if that is accurate, but it doesn’t sound like something that gets better with age.

They are communicating with radio and cell phones and this has happened all over ukraine with much smaller groups.  Also makes more sense of why Ukraine let them in without much hassle.  Now they can watch how they refuel/get food in and if they can disrupt the supply lines those soldiers sit there and starve, maybe walk away, lose the stomach for fighting etc. (has happened all over)

Going on record to say that there is absolutely no way Russia can't muster much better than this.  This has been an awful start for Russia. I assume because no one thought Putin was doing anything more than posturing(maybe even Vlad himself) until the last minute, and therefore nothing was done well.  Kinda has an US leaving Afghanistan feel to it.  Heels being drug, many in the forces thought it wasn't going to actually happen, etc.  However, I expect they will get themselves together in the next week or so and that is when all this Robinhoodesque crap on social media will turn super rough ridin' grim and awful.  The world needs to get Putin figured out and resolved in the next week or so.

I'm pretty sure we are seeing the best Russia is capable of, actually. I'd put the odds of their nukes actually working below 50%.

Agreed. Where are all the bombers, fighter jets and missiles? Russia can only get its ass kicked on the ground for so long before they just carpet bomb the hell out of them, right? They're a crap show right now, but just by shear numbers of equipment and personnel alone they should be doing MUCH more damage. I really hope this ends soon, before they just say screw it and start bombing them to oblivion. Side bar, but it seems uneasy that ALL the info we've received is extremely one sided.

Yup.  I think Ukraine is holding its own to some degree but I also think the west is getting a filtered message.

Well, they have over 500 so, those odds still really rough ridin' suck.

Looks like Putin is having his soldiers hydrate with Fanta from the local 7 - 11 while they try to drive their hell machines thru muddy fields.

Very informative and prescient write up. Thanks!
Very interesting. Seems somewhat hopeful that the thinly armored vehicles that compose the supply lines of the Russian forces could be disrupted on the flanks by troops using weapons that humans can tote around like AT4s and RPGs

Good article that discusses some of the points Dax has made in a much more eloquent manner.
