How would the U.S. react if Mexico entered into a military alliance with China?   Then started letting China build military bases and surveillance platforms in Northern Mexico?

Then lets say that a drug cartel got really out of control (who was getting their chemicals from rogue Chinese companies while other Chinese actors - possibly even Chinese intelligence washed their money) and was armed to the teeth and was murdering all kinds of people on both sides of the border while funneling tons of illegal drugs into the United States distributed across a vast network of cartel member/gangs in U.S. cities.    The U.S. wants to cut off the head of the snake, but an attack on Mexico, even a drug lord compound is considered by the Chinese, to also be an attack on China.

Well, we'd absolutely lose our crap right from the start of any such overtures between Mexico and China.

So why is anyone the least bit surprised that Russia is reacting they way they are?

So there is not a point?

Again, SlowDug will confirm you play dumb very well.

I expect nothing less then that kind of response from someone who grew up in world where phrases like "restoring democracy" were marketing tools for invasion, installed and forever proxy governments.

Tucker Carlson: Fierce advocate of peace and enemy of the Military Industrial Complex. Does Sergey Lavrov just fax him a list of talking points for his monologue every night?

Dax gets mad when we pin him with the Tucker Carlson card but jeez it's like word for word Dax post.

I never thought I would say this, but Tucker Carlson is providing food for thought.

The hilarity in all of this that there’s so many #blueanonGe types that are so simple brained they truly believe it’s only Tucker Carlson who is saying these things.

Nothing says excruciatingly low IQ like the logic that if you’re against another stupid war in a far off land you must be a Putin puppet.

I never thought I’d see  ProgLibdom now #blueanon devolve to this point.   But here we are.

I do agree with Tucker that Xi must be absolutely overjoyed by what the Clown Puppet in the Oval Office is doing.

Good 'cast with Jonah Goldberg interviewing Leon Aron about Russia / Ukraine. Guest doesn't think Putin will invade b/c Ukrainians would maintain a bloody insurgency that would decrease Putin's popularity in Russia. Don't know if he is right or not but it was an interesting listen.

Yes, it is absolutely true that the United States would continue to provide arms and assistance to NeoNazi militias fighting the Russians in Ukraine.

Do you think Ukraine should be able to fight to maintain its sovereignty?

Sure, but why are we arming and training Nazi's?

Seems strange that a political movement with millions of people who think anyone who disagrees with them is a Nazi/Fascist would be leading the charge to train and provide arms to actual Nazi's.

wouldn't Russia removing troops and not attacking Ukraine be the easiest way to avoid this "conflict"

like I get the neo-con military industrial complex argument but isn't that all moot if Russia simply doesn't attack Ukraine?

also the argument that NATO expansion is a threat to Russia is a joke. is NATO going to be launching an offensive against Russia?

If there is a bunch of Russian owned farmland in Nebraska we should seize it and have SD rule over it.
