Everyone says this and then forgets that Skylar spent roughly about 50 percent of the last two years hurt. Even then, our offense was pretty good.

Mess screwed some stuff up and needed to go, but the biggest impact on our offense over the last two seasons was that Skylar all too often lacked the most important ability of all, availability

That and the drop off from Sky to the best backup in the country was astronomical.

Yep. And for that exact same reason I’ll be rooting my ass off for Sky, but even if he eventually gets the reins to an NFL offense I’m not holding my breath that he can make it through a full season.

Edit: FWIW, I also think Sky’s injury history was baked into him going in the 7th round.

Last I heard QB's minimum salary on the roster is $350,000. That was about 10-12 years ago, so I'm sure it has increased since then. He'll always be behind first-round drafted QBs, but if he stays in the NFL he will be well off.
