What do you like about the porta 400? I just got Kodak gold 200, was worried about things getting blown out with 400, but I won’t be shooting in direct sunny conditions I don’t think. I only know a few photography basics right now.

The camera I got is a Pentax pc35afm, it’s 35mm and f2.8. I like how it’s point and shoot and the thing looks very very 80s. The other basic camera I have is a Kodak h35n, the cool thing about it is it takes half frames so a roll gets 72 shots without losing much resolution. Perfect for beginners like me.

I feel like the 400 speed film just gives more flexibility with varying light conditions. I like the old times look it gives. The half frame camera sounds very cool. I’ve read about them but never used one. Where do you get your film developed? I’ve used a place called The Darkroom in California. Haven’t shot any film for a couple of years now.

Also,  if you can get your hands on expired film it is fun to shoot just for the heck of it. Found some 30 year old stuff at my in laws a few years ago and got some fun shots of the kids playing in the snow that I still treasure.

9k. They will sell it for less if you plan it right but this is delayed from Christmas last year. I am though already in the worth it camp and I have had it for 10 months so far. It's timeless and comfy and I'll cherish it for literally decades to come. GF is equally impressed with it.

I just bought a benchmade couch and it is super comfy and I would suggest them. can customize whatever you want and it weighs like a million pounds so I hope it's good quality and not just heavy.

Just got a tankless hot water heater two weeks ago. It is a beast. Fights about who is using up all the hot water have ended.
The water heater was flashing an error message last week so the plumbers came to investigate. Turns out it had sprung an internal leak that was dripping on some of the controls. The whole thing was under warranty we are back to limitless hot water.

I am almost an empty nester, but if I had to do it over again I would have done this with a full nest.

I took my mower (Husqvarna purchased the day that the Cats beat OU in 2012) to the local handyman who services it for me yesterday. He told me "I know how important it is for you to get away from the stresses of life and just focus on the lawn -- I'll have this thing fixed for you in no time." It felt like talking to the wise neighbor from Home Improvement.

I couldn't choose between the two. (included the photo of them in the direct sunlight because WOW they look completely different in the sunlight, WOW!)

sidenote: the smokehouse burst needs to visit the luthier, the wiring is all goofed up and the pots don't really do exactly what they're supposed to

Those both look beautiful. Sometimes I wish I was more into music/instruments like that, as there are so many that are fantastically made.

I bought a zero-turn mower this spring.  It looks rough and won't start.  Home Depot got their in-house service man to fix it.  He did the job first thing the next morning.  He said that he cleaned the carburetor and drained the gas.  He told me it set outside all of the fall/winter season and that was a common problem.  I used it a couple of times this spring and summer.  Tried to start it a couple of weeks ago and it won't run correctly.  Was told by a local mechanic that it was a fuel problem and not warranted.  I put unleaded in it instead of non-ethanol high-octane fuel so my 4 yr warranty is useless without using 91/94 octane gas.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Heard an ad for one of these things today. They’re Bartesian brand cocktail machines.

https://bartesian.com/

Does anyone have one of these? Used one?

Seems like it could be great, but also crap. Kind of leaning crap.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Possibly crap, definitely rip-off.  Can't imagine those booze drink K-Cups are any better than the pre-mixed cocktail things you can get in the can at the liquor store, nor would they be cheap enough to offset the cost of the liquor Keurig in the first place...and they definitely are not as environmentally friendly as the pre mixed drinks in a can or the best option, mixing your own damn drinks.

I dabbled in some merino wool for travel reasons and I'm sold. I definitely don't take care of it well enough to justify the cost but yolo
