I bought a reusable disposable-type of camera and it’s been a lot of fun to take out and mess with. Pictures look nostalgic and more in the moment. The shittiness of the image quality is a vibe. Also fun waiting for pictures to be developed. Have since bought a decent film camera from 1982 that I’m excited to try out.
One of my kids has an app that will take pictures and then "develop" them later. They come out looking like they were taken in the 90's -- even have a time stamp on the bottom. She got some really cool ones on vacation last summer with it.
I have my dad's old film camera (Canon FTb) and it is really fun to use. If you like color photography, I would recommend getting your hands on some Kodak Porta 400 film. If you prefer B/W Kodak Tri-X 400 is fun to use. I've enjoyed messing around with using it in lower light conditions and asking the photo lab to "push" the exposure. (apologies if you already knew all of that....) Which film camera do you have?
