It's pretty safe to say so considering that tcu is the only team to go 0-18 in either Big 12, Big 8, Big 7, Southwest, or Missouri Valley conference history.

Yes, all three of those schools went winless, but only TCU and Flood Aggie went 0-18. The Big 12 played 16 conference games before 2012. A&M is the only school with two 15+ game Big 12 losing streaks.

aTm went 0-16 with 2 future NBA players (Acie Law and Antoine Wright) on their roster. That's tough to beat.

Ugh I remember Law that dude had a quick release and would shoot it from just about anywhere on the floor. If memory serves, he’s Acie Law the fourth, and I always thought it peculiar that tamu had his jersey say Law IV instead of Law IIII

Pretty much, any equivalency of 4 is the next whole number minus whatever set of one, ten, hundred, thousand you're figuring.
4 is always 1-5 or IV
40 is 10-50 or XL
400 is 100-500 or CD
4000 is 1000-5000 or MV

The current roman numerals we use weren't set until around the middle ages. Romans did use IIII in practice. The theory for that is that their chief god dude, Jupiter, was spelled IVPPITER in Latin, and using IV seemed to them to invoke his name improperly, or some such thing. You will notice that the practice of using "IIII" instead of "IV" has endured for many clock makers. That's where I've primarily seen it used.

No, it is not acceptable regardless of what some dumb clockmakers do from time to time.

You have an unusually strong opinion about this. Whatever, dude. Let's get back to talking about Acie Law IIII.

look, isu can only lose the games on their schedule.  they did that.  let's not throw stones at teams that accomplished what we could not.

rusty there were some layers to my comment but i'll go ahead and break it down. first UT built their clock tower, and then after that TAMU built Albritton bell tower, and while the towers were similar one notable difference was A&M used IIII and UT used IV. According to kooky aggie lore, they did this because they didn't want their tower to look too similar to UTs. So it was just kind of a subtle nod to their weird obsession with UT. So the way this ties back to Acie was that they put IV on his uniform...I was noting I found it strange since - and you may not be aware of this - but texas a&m has a bit of a reputation for being especially weird about stuff and that weirdness seems to know virtually no bounds...it surprised me that they would do IV instead of IIII to follow suit with the aesthetic of their belltower.

Thanks for clearing that up about the roman numerals tho!

So did you think everyone knew the clock tower story and would therefore understand your post?
