-
Also this is a Trim ESPNU special tonight. Hopefully we get to see the newest line of BulbHead products :excited:
-
they suck too right?
-
They are not very good either but I think they're favored by 10 or so.
-
If we make a 3 to go up by 7 in the second half, look for oscar to call a timeout after the make and the announcers to be befuddled.

How much do you think it would cost for gE to get one of these 30-second national spots?

I decided to go watch it but then couldn’t find it, what happened?
-
The Wichita State game went long and for some reason it took them until the 17 minute mark to start the steam. It's on U and streaming now.
-
ESPNU stepped up their ad game, only national companies running national ad campaigns. No more as seen on tv products.
-
Ah crap I don’t have the U, guess I got thwarted this time.
-
LINGUARD IN YOUR rough ridin' EYE

You wish. ISU is too assy.

So weird to have a legitimately decent freshman big. Bradford is way more athletic than they made him sound when we were recruiting him.

King is the king. ‘Nuff said.

i dont have espnu. did gordon play good D? because his shooting is a huge liability unless he is on the FT line

the ft line makes me think he actually CAN shoot, but he's a little too much in his own head.

And his willingness and confidence to take shots tells me that he makes those shots SOMEWHERE

does your team have any big losing streak records still intact, havs?

It's pretty safe to say so considering that tcu is the only team to go 0-18 in either Big 12, Big 8, Big 7, Southwest, or Missouri Valley conference history.

how exciting. i'll be rooting for your cyclones to not miserably fail in their quest to etch their names in history's ledger, havs.
-
I think Texas A&M went winless in the conference one time.
-
So has Baylor and TCU
-
Yes, all three of those schools went winless, but only TCU and Flood Aggie went 0-18. The Big 12 played 16 conference games before 2012. A&M is the only school with two 15+ game Big 12 losing streaks.

aTm went 0-16 with 2 future NBA players (Acie Law and Antoine Wright) on their roster. That's tough to beat.

Ugh I remember Law that dude had a quick release and would shoot it from just about anywhere on the floor. If memory serves, he’s Acie Law the fourth, and I always thought it peculiar that tamu had his jersey say Law IV instead of Law IIII

Pretty much, any equivalency of 4 is the next whole number minus whatever set of one, ten, hundred, thousand you're figuring.
4 is always 1-5 or IV
40 is 10-50 or XL
400 is 100-500 or CD
4000 is 1000-5000 or MV

The current roman numerals we use weren't set until around the middle ages. Romans did use IIII in practice. The theory for that is that their chief god dude, Jupiter, was spelled IVPPITER in Latin, and using IV seemed to them to invoke his name improperly, or some such thing. You will notice that the practice of using "IIII" instead of "IV" has endured for many clock makers. That's where I've primarily seen it used.

You have an unusually strong opinion about this. Whatever, dude. Let's get back to talking about Acie Law IIII.

rusty there were some layers to my comment but i'll go ahead and break it down. first UT built their clock tower, and then after that TAMU built Albritton bell tower, and while the towers were similar one notable difference was A&M used IIII and UT used IV. According to kooky aggie lore, they did this because they didn't want their tower to look too similar to UTs. So it was just kind of a subtle nod to their weird obsession with UT. So the way this ties back to Acie was that they put IV on his uniform...I was noting I found it strange since - and you may not be aware of this - but texas a&m has a bit of a reputation for being especially weird about stuff and that weirdness seems to know virtually no bounds...it surprised me that they would do IV instead of IIII to follow suit with the aesthetic of their belltower.
Thanks for clearing that up about the roman numerals tho!

nope, its kind of an obscure bit of aggie trivia. Just the way rusty asked if i needed someone to explain roman numerals to me, i was worried maybe he thought i was completely stupid or something? So i was providing some context to my comparison of IIII vs IV which was otherwise apropos of nothing

When weren't we in that position, in like every sport? Particularly programs like Iowa State, Tech, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and West Virginia, there's a healthy amount of, "K-State can do it, why can't we?" We do the same thing

Otzelberger has been widely regarded as one of the top recruiters in the nation. His efforts have helped secure the services of Cyclone greats Mike Taylor, Craig Brackins, Diante Garrett, Scott Christopherson, Chris Babb, Chris Allen, Will Clyburn, Korie Lucious, Melvin Ejim, Georges Niang, Naz Long, and Matt Thomas, among others.
There’s a reason Hoiberg retained/promoted him. Gotta know who you can trust..
-
I’ve never heard of any of those guys
-
Gotta love when fans update wiki pages to their “favor”.
-
Apparently Otzelberger is friends with Potato Head Man and his wife is a former flood aggie basketball player. I don't think he will recruit better than Prohm did. I'd like to think that Prohm is the better coach but he just finished 0-18 so that would be silly. Their trading the coach of the 10th best Big 12 program to the coach of the 6th best Mountain West program.
Worst of luck to them.
-
I've assumed this was happening for a while. He was going to be the guy in 2015 until President Leath stiff-armed Pollard.

On the news last night, this lead the 6 and 10 o'clock news by the way, not the sports but the actual news in the middle of a pandemic, they said he "turned around South Dakota State and UNLV." lol. It's crazy how much differently Iowans view their college sports as opposed to Kansans. They are optimistic about everything in the world related to their schools, K-Staters seem to be the most skeptical people ever. KU fans are more like Iowans, but even they aren't as overtly optimistic as Iowans.
