Marine corp friends are livid.

Veterans of evacuating thousands said the original abandonment of Bagram lessoned our security capability substantially.   In their view a complete and total failure of leadership.

I don't know how you manage to know and talk to so many friends across so many industries yet have so much time to troll on here, it's an amazing feat.

The performative outrage from conservative Twitter today was something else.

That's what politics is now.  Or had you not noticed the previous 4 years of performative outrage?  In many cases for things far more trivial than 13 dead marines.

I'd love to know what you consider trivial in this instance

Performative outrage is a great term. I’ve enjoyed/been frustrated by the performative outrage put forth from almost all of the “sides” on any issues (and tbh, non issues) that have come up.

I can't think of many things more disingenuous than acting like Patty Pink Hair mad on twitter that someone misidentified the wrong pride flag is comparable to Kevin McCarthy going on tv and using dead soldiers in a war as propaganda chess pieces. It's a classic dax move, he does it everyday. Wacky is pouring the amens on you because he does it too, just not as cynically as dax does, more like a lost puppy pissing on the carpet because he doesn't know any better.

I have military customers, and high school classmates who were Marines.

Technology these days, boy it really speeds up the ability  to communicate.  Try it sometime.

JFC, dude, get a grip. I can’t think of anything more disingenuous than patty, Wichita, Trim, “besty” alliance here. When’s the last time this dude visited you? When’s the last time he asked you to visit him? When’s the last time he didn’t use you as his minority Iowa friend? Had to be a decade ago now, when you both were shitting on Scott IRL south of Ames.

I don’t believe I have discussed the dead soldiers.  I have discussed the crap leadership of our national command authority exclusively.

This talk about outrage is hilarious coming from both #blueanon and #blueanonGe considering the performance your movement has put on over the last 5 years and beyond.

What’s even more hilarious is observing this knowing the people who are circling the wagons the hardest can’t even make it 3 minutes into a favored political figureheads funeral without turning it into a giant grievance and political bully pulpit, and many times the ambulances haven’t even showed up yet and #blueanon is spewing all kinds of political bullshit.

Yep. So many posts are noting but "both sides" false equivalancies. It's either very lazy or very stupid. #1 type of post I ignore by far.

So brave, @chum. Post bombs for absolute crap for 6 years, that were mostly tweets that got deleted, finding ways to crap on the previous administration, and then show up saying, “total witch hunt, this is why I ignore that type of thing!”

You guys are total hypocritical dorks. Have fun down here, dorks. Go cats! Time to ban myself from the L(p)it!

When I can't sleep I will listen to some chill music or just try some simple deep breathing stuff.  Breath in deep for 10 seconds, hold for 10 seconds then breath it all out for 10 seconds then hold with lungs empty for 10.  repeat.  it really works.

rage posting complete, undecipherable personal attacks in the pit will NOT help you get back to sleep.  that's like, science.

I'm not talking about criticizing one side vs. the other. I'm talking about the merit of the criticism.

If someone is thoroughly convinced that both sides ultimately behave in exactly the same ways and nothing including clear evidence to the contrary will change their mind about that, then I don't understand what they want to discuss with me. Maybe they just want to go round and round saying "is not" and "is so." I'm just not into that.

I've found the people who do the both sides thing are usually just people who don't want to admit they generally agree with trump.

Doing it requires zero understanding of anything. Which is a pretty desirable feature if you're trying to agree with a completely uninformed individual like Trump. Also a desirable feature if you're just too lazy to read about or put much thought into things.

@chum1 literally trolled up and 1000% believed every insane #blueanon conspiracy theory about Trump and still believes all of them to the core of his being.

Now in chum world if we talk about actual real, verified events regarding this administration then we're all just lazy and uninformed.

@chum1 is having an extremely hard time dealing with the justified criticism of this (his) clown car administration.

I couldn't be a more middle of the road sit on the fencer IRL.  The Pit made me pick a side and it couldn't be with a TV reality president and his followers who trying their damnest to keep us in a pandemic with their "patriot" ways.

I probably won't buy lab meat until it gets close in price to the killed meat. I do expect it to be juicier and more tender, so I would be willing to pay a little bit more. Just probably not going to buy much of it outside of special occasions.
