Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.

steve dave, you can regain control by giving the personal custodian another $20 raise.  let your wife see how it feels.

It's been many, many years since my wife's gone to her gym. I mentioned canceling the membership like two years ago. She was offended and certain she'd be wanting to use it again soon. I'm never bringing it up again.
Damn, good one

Cancel it and don't tell her.  Or, even better, report the credit card as lost, get a new credit card number, and never update the card on file with the gym.  subscription cancelled.

Cars. That’s her biggest weakness. I don’t believe in over spending for something that gets me from point A to B. Especially during these times.

About $150 more a month than I’d like for a car. She had a Tahoe and traded it in to “downsize” her car payment before the kiddo arrived, but it went down a weird rabbit hole where that didn’t happen. She traded it in for a newer car, shittier brand, and a higher payment and she hates it. Misses the old Tahoe. Lol

Unless you’re a millionaire, I don’t get over paying for a car.

Neither do I Wacky. As long as I have Bluetooth & AC, I’m good. My next car is going to be a base model Elantra that was a program car from Enterprise. Just waiting for my 2008 Corolla to breakdown to the point that it’s not worth fixing.

That’s fair. Ours have been sitting for awhile. It’s about a 15 minute commute to downtown where she works. It’s good for the baby tho.

I will live in the cheapest shitholes available but I HAVE to have a nice comfortable car with billions of options

Home - low end of price range
Car - slightly over price range

I just want to travel at this stage in my life, but we’re working on baby 2, so we’re spending our fun $ on other things these days.

The period of time between baby #1 and baby #2 generally isn't the greatest time in your life to "travel" unless you want to get in a few last lap child trips.

If a recipe calls for a teaspoon of something, she will buy a hogshead of it.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

My wife and I had been married about 4 years when I found out that she had opted not to enroll in her company's 401k.

pro tip: there are mexican brands that put all sorts of spices in tiny plastic bags and they're grate for things like this. I didn't realize they had a bunch of regular old spices until I started doing grocery shopping online.

I figured this was going to be a rant about essential oils or something.

eff me with this.  Usually I wait these fads out but this one is infuriating.  Calling it snake oil has not helped the problem or the relationship

A cocaine habit would be cheaper than my wife's Rodan and Fields monthly delivery.
