2020 General Election Thread
« Reply #2825 on: January 04, 2021, 01:35:19 PM »
I actually think Trump is the sex worker in this scenario. Congressional Republicans have more power right now, they’re just exploiting his name in a futile gesture to garner more support from their base.

So you haven't moved beyond thinking this dude is nothing more than a harmless idiot? Trump's clearly the straw stirring this drink, they aren't using him as some meat shield, they are hanging on to his train of lunacy. The greatest voice for trumpism right now is a "man" who allowed trump to repeatedly and publicly call his wife ugly and his dad a murder. Stop acting like trump is a passenger.
Just based on what has happened so far, he’s as harmless now as he will be in a few weeks. And short of staging some type of military coup that won’t change (I wouldn’t doubt he explored the idea, but I also expect there is next to zero support for it).

It’s still a dangerous ideology, but the success of it is entirely dependent on others to keep alive. You make Trump a martyr now and it only bolsters those guys. Making him irrelevant is the best you can do IMO.

Quote
Either way, the runoffs remain an afterthought for Trump. He spent much of the last half hour of his speech reciting the same lies he told during an hour-long conversation with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, on Saturday, a recording of which Raffensperger’s office shared with the press. The president also suggested that Vice President Mike Pence, who serves a largely ceremonial role overseeing the count of Electoral College votes on Wednesday, might try to swing the result to Trump, though he didn’t specify how.

“I hope our great vice president comes through for us. If he doesn’t come through, I won’t like him quite as much,” he said, grinning. “He’s going to have a lot to say with it.”

Voting is CANCELLED!

This whole series of events has me imagining what it was like to be a decent rational human being in Nazi Germany.

Based on what I've read on that subject, you're living it, dude. Very much like trying to imagine living through the 1918 pandemic.

Not surprised that Arnold is a Deep State RINO after all the time he has spent cozying up to Hollywood Elites.

When Congress reconvenes, I wonder if the shithead objectors are still going to object or if they'll let it go and do the rough ridin' count thing without the objections.

Sadly I bet they still do but man you'd hope the lesson had been learned.

They just called the GA senate race in the meantime. I think this would be a good time for the new minority party to let it go.

There is going to be questions on how secure the votes were during all of this and challenges made around that.

they weren't secret votes.  the identity of every voter and how they voted is known.

Maga is the I Like The Confederate Flag crowd but revamped so that regionality isn't a concern.  I realize that a lot of people already weren't concerned about that, but now, there is zero barrier at all.

There are lot of confederate flag types in places you wouldn't expect, like Michigan, or rural Canada.

maga is the catnip of people who have always hated the gubment, who sit in small country bars talking about how they would change things if they were in charge, and talk about what really is the matter with America. It just took the confederate flaggers in the south a while to realize their in general sentiments were felt by most people in small town USA, since they never left their own towns for so long, and then poof, this magical thing called the internet comes along and now it's not just some people in one area, it's all over.

that, and the catnip of suburban dads like kazz dub and texags who constantly feel like the nice little life they set up for themselves is somehow being assaulted by some unruly neighbors like it's it's a fight in a HOA meeting, as long as their PTO isn't overly used up for cause of course
