It has pretty clearly crossed into an illegitimate attempt for Trump to retain power. The greater Republican Party is complicit at this point.

like we all groggily wake up and look at ourselves and are like "this is what we do now?". but that's asking too much.

We're going to have a large percentage of citizens that don't think Biden is legitimate.

Which was going to happen regardless of what trump did. TBF the last 12 years have been this way, we'll be fine.

I won't rest easy until December 14. We've already seen how easily these assholes will capitulate to Trump if they feel they have to in order to retain their power.

It's funny in execution, deeply disturbing in concept.

That's what kids do. It is not a fundamental assault on childhood like these assholes are trying to pull on democracy.

Yes that is my feeling. It really is sobering to think how politicians have started rallying around this idea ever since people elected a black president.

What’s giving me comfort is that people are not questioning how the court process is playing out. Despite how petty we are when it comes to general political stuff, the overwhelming majority still have faith in the court system, which is what will end up kicking out all this crap.

I think them doing it as a farce is pretty good for helping prevent it happening for real to be honest.  Basically like a vaccine.

After seeing the reaction of texags, I'm going to side with kk. It's only the q's left believing this stuff, even the magas are wondering why that press conference was such a shitshow.

Q guy i know said "all the evidence is in that press conference"

He is 100% convinced Trump will remain in office and this fraud will be exposed any minute. It's bizarre.. he's an bad person though so not too shocked.

Minnesota is Michigan.  Michigan is Minnesota.

At what point do you start wondering if they're doing it on purpose

For anyone who thinks our struggles with democracy aren't real, I'd recommend reading up on other countries you think the opposite of and asking yourself why our leaders are so different. We have a troubling history of our leaders undermining democratic elections here, as well, some of which is detailed in the book below.

Perhaps.  I'm not sure the Republicans controlling state legislatures won't develop a gameplan to better execute it in the future.

For one, the CIA usually is on our side (sorry JFK) but besides that there are a few other differences.

Is our side the democratic or undemocratic one?

The CIA is not doing a US coup for Trump.

They're not going to stop one either. Not sure why we're talking about them.
