How they gonna have an even number of voters on a canvessers board?!
They have to have the same number from each party.

So they are certifying, but calling on the SOS to audit the improprieties after the fact?  Seems odd, but that's probably the way things are done in Detroit.

really is illuminating how many republicans are willing to overthrow the results of an election.

they're just trying to save face after their attempt to disenfranchise voters caught more blowback than they were prepared to handle.

I just want them to verify the mail in votes, but I don't think they can.

why couldnt they?

match a voted ballot to a registered voter and then match a registered voter to a dead 96 year old veteran

easy enough

what do you mean by verify?

if their system is like california's, there would be some level of verification in each of three steps - registration, request for a mail-in ballot and upon receipt of the ballot.

Pennsylvania threw out signature verification claiming it would be too burdensome due to the high number of mail in ballots.

You're asking untrained election volunteers to match the signature somebody wrote on a stylus using a crappy electric screen at the dmv to the signature on their ballot.

From my reading of the ruling, the more accurate description would be that there is no signature verification in the election code and the Supreme Court refused to create one.

So we all agree that mail in voting, in particular, unsolicited mail in ballots, is an unverifiable form of voting and should be illegal.

Find some actual fraud or shut up already.  If it's so widespread, it shouldn't be hard.  Colorado has been doing unsolicited mail-in ballots for years (which is the absolute best) so maybe start there.

Until then you're just trying to suppress voters.

what is an "unsolicited mail in ballot"?

And how would the acceptance of these favor one party over another?

Some places mailed ballots to all registered voters IIRC. Not sure why this is “unverifiable”.

That is not at all unverifiable.

Some states/precincts mailed ballots to everyone on the rolls whether they asked for them or not, which had not been done before, not knowing if they were still at the address or even alive.  Anyone could fill out the ballot and send it in.

Probably no advantage to either party, just a vote that shouldn't count.

The fact that we vote on a Tuesday is the most ridiculous part of the whole thing. Make it a Saturday and do it in schools. Play music, make it a party.

Nevada is the only state that I heard of being complained about having done this.

as long as they filled in all the information matching their registration, and matched their signature on record, then anyone can definitely mail it back and get the vote counted
