I will say, fun to have re-watched it. I really only focused on the end of the 2nd half and the OTs. But still:
1. I don't think I can ever forgive that ref for not calling that foul on Denis instead of Merriweather. Literally the difference between that game going into OT and not. While it gave us that great game, I still think playing 1.25 games vs 1 meant we were too tired vs Butler to make it to the FF. And once we got there, I liked our chances vs MSU and eventually Duke. Would we have done it? Probably no, but I absolutely think 2 OTs killed us vs Butler and we'd have won that game have the goddamn ref called the right foul vs the right person, and it be 2 shots vs 3, and we walk off with a close win in regulation.
2. It really amazed me in retrospect how it really seemed like we were the team in control, but Xavier hit clutch shot after clutch shot to keep themselves in. Kinda obvious but in the moment it seemed more a titanic struggle, 10 years (holy crap) since, it seemed like we had it and we just couldn't stop the clutch until they couldn't anymore.
3. CK Kelly was amazing, Denis and Jpullz desire a lot of credit, but on both sides of the floor Curtis did the small and big things it took for us to win and doesn't deserve enough credit in that win.
4. I love and miss Jamar Samuels, clear difference maker in the right time.
