I wish. It's pretty much the exact opposite in my industry (not just my employer).

I thought you guys just took a percentage of the judgement minus hospital/medical bills.

If there’s one thing lawyers actually care about it’s billable hours.

A year and a couple months in to this and unfortunately my waking hours have shifted and now I work from like 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM and I can't really get motivated to do much of anything past 11.
Where did you get that overnight bag?

To cross over with India time more?

No, it has just kind of naturally happened.

Same. Shows how little we actually get done in the office with distractions.

We started our HR meeting on Friday with 15 minutes of meditation. My guy played music and led the whole ordeal. Felt like I was high or something.

Our office began mandatory 2 days a week in-office.  Seems like everyone picked today to be one of their 2 days.

Just curious what's the logic behind that?

The reason for making people come in is that they own a giant office building and want to use it.  The reason they're only making us come in 2 days a week is that during the pandemic the company's recruiters found out that people didn't want to work for a company that made them come into the office 5 days a week.

My boss hates wfh but can't argue with the numbers. We're crushing it and senior managers are forcing a permanent wfh policy. We'll be converting office space to warehouse storage over the next year.

What is the difference between the overhead with no one there or the overhead with everyone there? It appears as 100% sunk cost to me.

it’s way more expensive to have people in the office, but old balls don’t care.  ultimately though, their hand will be forced by two things - competition allowing wfh full time and generating higher margin, and second, good talent not wanting to work in offices

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

The people who made the decision to sign the lease don't want to admit it was a loss.

AND, I am convinced there is a portion of the human race that just completely gets off on the feeling of walking around and being a "boss" with others sucking up to them.  If everyone is working from home, it's not as pleasurable for them.

and as I've said several times, people will want to be in the office to suck up to the boss. Face time is valuable especially when promotions and stuff are rarely based purely on results.
