Why can’t health insurers mandate the vaccine?
They can't most likely, but they can adjust their premiums. They will squeeze those tubby old trumpers to get it. The free market that trumpers hate to death is coming for them.
They cannot adjust their premiums. It is against the law. As I stated before, you can only charge a differential premium based on age, zip code and tobacco status.
The only thing that can be done is employers offering wellness incentives. There are limits to this, though, both in terms of the amount of total wellness incentives that can be offered and what wellness incentives can be offered. There will most likely be litigation if employers do this. I think the wellness incentives will be allowed, but they will still be subject to the caps that exist in law.
For some employers it will be difficult to do much with wellness incentives because a lot of employers already offer wellness incentives, so the amount that can be offered for vaccinations is limited.
