I was just in Yosemite for the weekend because it opened and those tourist towns are gonna get covid bad. no one wears masks, restaurants open, etc. Plus you get people from places like SF that are like "sweet! no masks!"

went to a drive thru right off I-5 (which was actually mentioned in your article) and there were maskless folks inside. All the while the state has never had a decline in cases or made a real attempt to stamp it out (although Gavin said some good things about contact tracing)

Yep, local UAB-M epidemiologists getting very pissed about mask usage and the lack thereof and up until this point their primary spokesperson has been professionally telling people to wear masks for weeks but now she's getting more animated.   Same with state and local health directors.

The CDC/feds/whoever should be running ads about mask use with clear rationale as to why it's beneficial, Trump should be wearing masks in public, etc. Trump should be working with Fox News and OAN to make people think it's a patriotic duty to wear masks, it's rough ridin' insane that it's turned into a culture war.
