a good thread for phil on summer activities:

Seems pretty reasonable, probably a little more cautious than I will end up this summer but I also don't have near the exposure profile he does

Just when I think Canada was about to become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chinese Communist Party.    It's also good to see that Justin came out of hiding.

If what Taiwan did against the RONA is actually true, and not overstated so as to heighten their status, then they need to be part of the WHO and maybe even have reps from their replace some of the Maoists leading the WHO

Meanwhile, in the real world the Federal gov't is spending billions on a vaccine, has assembled a "Manhattan Project" type program to develop a vaccine, and has put Trillions of dollars into economic stimulus and maintenance programs, and is pumping billions more into testing.

Gotta link for this BS, Steve?

Writing a report is not a game plan.

Having meetings and symposiums is not a game plan.

Yeah we're testing our balls and faces off.

I feel like there has to be a better systematic approach to this.  right now it seems pretty shotgunned just based on when a grant is paid or testing supplies become available.  KCMO one day just advertised 500 first come first serve drive up tests.  Very random and doesn't seem to be using our precious resources the most efficient way.

Well we had a bunch of meetings, did some modeling, wrote some reports, flew off to fun places, stayed at expensive hotels, expensed a lot of high end booze and steaks . . . thus we have a game plan for you.

Build up the stockpile?  Sorta-kinda

Provide funding for that SARS vaccine being developed at UT-Austin?  Well . . . no . . .

But Tony Fauci met with Bill Gates a lot and Deborah Birx traveled the world, so there's that.

Agreed.  But testing around 300k/day, we've come quite a ways over the last 2 or 3 weeks.  If that trend continues we'll be up over 1m/day in July.

decision making rubrics, roles and responsibilities, mitigation options, communication plans.  It doesn't say "coronavirus" in it so maybe dummies don't think it applies to this situation?

Agreed.  Let's hope it continues to grow at a high rate.  Only hope right now.  Still would like to see a strategy to testing.  Maybe they are there and just not public.

Many of the models have been proven to be wrong time and time again.

Again, writing white papers and holding conference calls to discuss those white papers is not a game plan.

It's not the least bit surprising that a FearPorn Parrot Boy like you thinks sitting around talking about things and doing a bunch of modeling is a game plan.

It isn't.

There has been talk of ramped up testing. They may have briefly touched on contract tracing. Definitely haven't heard any mention of centralized quarantine, but I've been tuning in and out.

The idea that you're going to put what could amount to tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people in centralized quarantine in the United States of America is the theater of the insane.

Fauci on the safety of vaccines should be analyzed because this is the same person who essentially admitted that his own TechnoCratism slowed the development of life saving AIDs medicines.

He's probably going to hand the race to the Chinese on silver platter, particularly since China is still holding key patient zero information that enables the development of a vaccine(s).

Then sadly, we'll be treated to an onslaught of CCP Parrot People in the United States extolling the virtue of the CCP saving the world.

It's obvious you didn't read it (it's not a modeling playbook) which is fine but just say so instead of trying to beef out more misinformation.
