Yeah, I don't think Trump has the stones to actually eff with this stuff too much.... But it's also completely plausible

isn't this the sort of thing he and/or the pubs killed oversight on? it's really mumped up that the states hardest hit by the virus and with the most aggressive shelter in place orders had the lowest rates of approval.

A FB friend from college had to fly for work this week for some reason. she connected through Atlanta back to Texas, and Texas apparently requires a 14 day quarantine if you've connected through a "hot spot". She said there were cops at the gate and she had to verify her quarantine location and stuff. First I'd heard of anything like that

I keep seeing stuff about the Javits Center and I was at a Dental Convention there for a whole week in early December and later got sick around the holidays for like 24-48 hours. It really makes me wonder....

sorry, folks creating projections are way less clueless than the general population. I don't know how you could genuinely think that "are as clueless as the rest of us" and still try to pretend you're "just asking questions" and not trying to push an agenda

How those projections have been shared and interpreted has plenty of issues, though. I think all politicians have done a poor job with detailed citations of their numbers.

They may be way less clueless, but they're still not very good in their own right -- either that, or the projections are so vague that relying on them isn't very helpful, practically speaking. Whatever led Cuomo to say "we need 45,000 ICU beds by April 14" should be criticized -- whether that's the CDC's projectors or Cuomo's bad interpretation of a faultless projection. We're kind of up against the clock here economically speaking, and resources to manage the crises popping up around the country aren't infinite.
