I irl talked to the chair of the Neb Med epidemiology dept about covid-19 earlier this week in re. to how our company should respond at varying levels of outbreak. She is a cool person.

Obama did a phenomenal job of preventing Ebola in the USA. Trump has allowed more people to die of just the flu than Obama allowed to even contract Ebola.

I want to be clear that I am walking back my call for total shutdown of travel, but I do want border security and to know who comes in the country from where.

1) You're equivocating checking every illegal immigrant crossing the southern border for a disease that has no evidence of existing in their country to checking people at legal ports of entry for an outbreak in the area they are traveling directly from.  You think those are similar enough for your whataboutism.

2) We know for a fact that nobody traveled from Africa through Mexico and infected any American with ebola, showing that any additional resources spent to prevent that would've been wasted.

Good Lawd Dude.   First of all, dummy.  BP and INS do check for such diseases with people that are apprehended.  I also couldn't have been more clear that I was referencing African immigrants who traveled directly from Ebola hotspots in the midst of an Ebola spike to Mexico and then immediately crossed the U.S. Mexican border.    I never once said or even implied that they actually had Ebola.
