My impression was that we’ve crossed into the point where we’d treat covid like the flu. I’m sure there are marginal benefits to having last year’s vaccine but for the most part you’re either up to date or you’re not.

I’ve seen a crap ton of elderly conservatives survive it without the vax, including my grandparents in their 90’s, so yeah, I’m not 100% we have the right juice, but I’m also not against vaccines. Weird, I know this bothers many ride or die pro vaccine dorks, but I’m not 100% sold on what we’re working with and I don’t wear a tin hat either. Wow! Just a mediocre opinion by most, but like devil crap by the left these days.

Mrs SSOC (hadn't gotten around to getting flu shot) had it 2 weeks ago and was absolutely miserable. I had my flu shot at the start of November and did not get sick. CDC is saying that this year's shot is a good match for the H2N3 strain of Influenza A that is currently in heavy circulation in the USA which is good news.

dunno if it was influenza or not, but my wife and i both got some sort of non-covid respiratory virus a week or so ago. was worse than covid, at least for me.

i got the flu vaccine earlier this fall, though, so maybe it was something else.

RSV has been making the rounds among adults this year. Usually it's a kids thing, but a couple people I know got crazy sick from it.
