dunno if it was influenza or not, but my wife and i both got some sort of non-covid respiratory virus a week or so ago.  was worse than covid, at least for me.

i got the flu vaccine earlier this fall, though, so maybe it was something else.

My son, 13, got it and has been out of school all week. No rsv, flue, Covid, but a constant, chesty cough and lethargy the whole way through.

currently at home with all 3 boys.

Oldest tested positive and had mild symptoms, mostly nausea/diarrhea.
Middle had pretty serious nausea/diarrhea and fever (not hospitalized for dehydration or anything but lots of liquid coming out gross)
Youngest has just started with the fever and loose stool.

I am fine, wife is fine, but 5 days out of school for the big guy.

Yeah, he gave it to his little brother and his grandparents. I, as per usual, didn’t catch anything (knock on wood).

Saw yesterday that at least one elementary school is calling off school for the time being because so many staff are out sick. They’re begging for subs to help stay in session.

yeah, sounds like what we had.  the most salient symptom was being super tired.  i think i slept for like 34-36 hours out of 48 at one point.

My 6 TH grader has it. Super congested. Lost taste and smell was the red flag. Glad she doesn’t have stomach stuff.

We need more vaccine mandates, or at least more segregation of the voluntarily unchip'd from the rest of us. It's not just about covid transmission, but that it's such a great barometer of how those people approach life and/or their stupidity/incompetence, and that they in turn should be largely kept out of society.
