You've moved into 2nd, a distant 2nd.

I mean, you're amusing, but at least there's occasionally some substance to what SteveDave attempts to convey (poorly)

elon should pay his $1b penalty and make a new offer at half his original bid. $TWTR shareholders are getting out really nice.

I am batting 1.0000 on this thing

Nothing says serious person to the financial community like shrugging your shoulders and stating that you were just facilitating #blueanon fantasy’s/fapfests by messing with The Great MAGA King and his acolytes.

Does this mean mega now ending friendship with Elon?

#slowdug, if you can't provide any links that Elon is just playing with the Great MAGA King (the words of our clown mentally incapacitated President) then we'll have to classify your post as disinformation and bring in Nina Jankowicz-Disinformation Czar to add disclaimers to all of your posts and you'll be classified as a #blueanonGe/#neoconGe dis-informer.

This, again, seems like pure stock price manipulation from Elon. If he cancels and re-offers at this point I’d be shocked if the SEC didn’t come calling.

Well, the market has eaten absolute crap since he made his already premium offer for it to make a pot joke.

The market has, yes, but his recent comments seem calculated to drive the price of Twitter shares down.

I don't think that has anything to do with it. The current price is based on the odds that the deal actually closes. If the market thought it was likely it would be trading at almost the offer price. Obviously the market does not believe it's likely. It would probably be trading in the low 20s if he hadn't offered the outrageous amount he did. If he pulls his offer that's where it will go. Another factor is his funding for the deal is based on his TSLA shares which have eaten absolute crap recently so he's got to lever that up. He'll just back out of this deal and either negotiate down the $1b penalty or enter into renegotiation with twitter on the price. If I was him and really wanted to buy the thing I'd go to them and offer $30 a share right now. They hold that $1b over him but that's peanuts and he is still offering them a premium over fair value.

If you were him and actually wanted it you'd do that.  If you were just thrashing maga faces you wouldn't

another part of the deal that's hilarious is that elon waived due diligence so he can't pause crap for any bots or anything else he finds out about the company. really the only thing that will save him from handing twitter $1b is if the gov shuts the deal down. so maybe him working to make sure that happens is his best move.

The sad thing about the deal possibly getting shut down is that we won't get to witness #blueanon (numbering in the millions upon millions) completely losing their crap about the deal, and we may lose a bit of the outright    psychotic zeal of new Information "we'll let you know when it's disinformation" Ministry.

I find it hard to believe they could force Musk to consummate the deal. That would make the $1 billion withdrawal fee superfluous. Not to mention it’s a little eye-rolly to claim a transaction falling through would do irreparable damage to a company with no other known bidders.

No doubt, but there are varying levels of pain there for him. Clearly he realizes he mumped up bigtime and is looking for a rip cord to pull.
