Like 70% of the country can't handle a $300 unexpected expense and gE is over here pooping on a 30yr old with $500k net worth. #privleged

Feels like we’re hijacking chums amazing dual career, but funny or not I don’t love this tiktok genius financial dude. Just feels like more taking advantage of uneducated people with a “get rich just like I did” schtick

Hey, all you need to do is have your parents pay for college, graduate debt free, get a good enough job that you can max out your 401k/IRA, and start investing during a string of some of the strongest bull markets in history. Poof, easy AF.

Seriously though, good for him. I'm not hating on the guy for having $500k in his 20's without even including home appreciation. Still cringe, though.

Chum I got a recruiter hounding me about a fully remote 6 month contract job.  How do I pull this off?

Take things one step at a time. The first step is getting that job. The subsequent steps are just doing what you need to do to make it work.

To elaborate just a bit, there is a mountain of hypothetical concerns. What-ifs. Just worry about the most basic of them. Like, committing to being in two places at one time obviously won't work. Beyond those basics, just plow forward and figure out all the other stuff as you go. My experience is that the other stuff is surprisingly doable. Doing two different things (of any kind) for two different jobs is essentially the same as doing two different things for a single job.

I figure the worst that happens is I get canned from the contract job.  Have to secure it first.

I was tempted to do the dual job thing but decided against it since they're in the same industry. Someone would talk eventually.

This should be in a dumb customer service thread.

Dealing with family issues as HIPPA designee/POA.  Large insurance company will not change mailing addresses and thus wants to send sensitive documents to an address where no member of the family has resided for over a year . . . for security reasons.

Can you convince the Post Office to forward from that address?

Possibly, I also asked about Esign capabilities, but apparently they don't do that . . . for security reasons.

Down to one job now due to budget cuts. Lost the newer, better job. Not really a blow, obviously, since it was just for extra income. The good news is that I can safely use the very marketable experience on my resume and have a fresh reference. Maybe I'll end up getting two new offers and just take both.

I think my boss said 3 weeks. So, not really. They're going to email details.

T's and P's Chum. Its pretty rough out there when a guy can't keep his second job that he had only because he wanted to see if he could work 2 full time jobs at the same time.  :D

Had you fully adjusted your lifestyle to match your dual income life, or were you just doing a ton of saving?
:adios:

I was investing all of the second job money. This doesn't affect day to day life at all.

No. They are making cuts across the board. They cut their cleaning services from daily to weekly.

I don't think my boss suspected anything. If he did, he probably wouldn't have cared. He was pretty dogmatic about not caring what people did as long as they got their work done. It was an ideal dual job situation.  :frown:
