:shakesfist: I liked the original one in an endearing way. The second one though was a giant laugh fest.

Tenet was so far over my head. I'll try again, hopefully, when I can pay better attention. It seems to be worth retrying.

The Mitchells vs. The Machines (Netflix)

a pretty good, funny cartoon for the family (well if your kids go to public school)
the jokes and plot are better than most of this class of film

Belle de jour (Criterion)

some broad wants to be a french prostitute, despite being married, she succeeds.
I don't speak French, nor understand why this is supposed to be a good movie.

White Rock (Criterion)

a movie about the events in the 1976 winter olympics
It is awesome.  it features a lot of great camera work, weird 70's synth music and Peter Coburn helps explain the events and provides narration in between the extensive musical interludes with awesome shots.

I watched Blood Simple the other night.  I really enjoyed seeing the start of the Coen brothers movies.  Definitely fits their clueless criminal plots but doesn't have the zaniness of their more recent films.

Chungking Express
The movie starts out as a crime thriller with a completely different protagonist, but then settles on a seemingly minor character at first—A lonely hopeless romantic guy falls in love with several women, and when he is lonely and can’t talk to women, talks to expired canned food, household items and beer.  He seeks food and advice from a snack owner across the street from his favorite bar. We meet him in a random chance encounter and then start following his life.

I really liked it, a rom-com heavy on the light hearted romance and not much comedy, but great music (some 60’s and then 90’s) and great shots.

Greenland 3.5/7

This is a movie for people who like disaster movies. It's probably "The Day After Tomorrow" good which isn't great, but worth watching for disaster movie fans.

Tampopo (Dandelion). On criterion

A film about how to run a successful ramen restaurant. Some good laughs, pretty strange, really enjoyed it.

MegaFault - Brittany Murphy and a guy from This is Us try to save America from an earthquake.  How you ask?  By blowing it up of course. 10/7

Tenet

A very fun action film!  A little reminiscent of the Matrix or inception, Tenet was a bit more convoluted in terms of plot, but I think the risks pay off for the most part.  I don’t think it is all that confusing as much as I think the plot just fundamentally is not as important as the general notion plus the action.  Like do all the physics really add up?  Does not seem like it, but I think the highway chase was almost as good as the matrix (2?).

i would agree with this. i read a summary of the plot after i watched and was actually surprised to find out that i had pretty much tracked everything i needed to know. some of the scenes are masterpieces in terms of filmmaking.

I thought tenet was nolans worst movie, but maybe insomnia is worse. I still liked it though and never really understood why people thought it was confusing. My biggest complaint is how boring the protagonist character is.

Also I am now a Robert Pattinson fan.

I agree with everyone's Tenet takes.  I think it moves at a quick enough pace and has enough pretty distractions that you don't get a chance poke holes in the time travel parts.

Rented Nobody last night on Amazon Prime.  Very John Wick-ey which would make sense considering the writer.  Overall was a pretty good flick.
