I've watched a fair number of Kugel's games and I don't think his schizophrenia is a good pairing with Self. He scored 20+ five times this year and then had nearly half of his games where he scored 5 points or less.

He's all over the place and I wouldn't think Self would tolerate it too long.

Just landed Rylen Griffin, and Dickinson is coming back. Maybe Furphy, too. It's been a pretty good portal season so far. Never bet against Billy Self Jr.

If Self talks Furphy out of a first round draft selection he's not as washed as I thought

The KU nil war chest is obviously very depleted or empty now and Self is obviously under a ton of pressure to make this class of transfer misfits work.  This isn't his schtick and now we will see how secure those plugs are.  Real or not his hair will be thinning by the clumps.

Yeah, it kinda sucks. Bill made his bones recruiting blue chips and letting them mature in the program, so that by junior or senior year, KU had a decided advantage. We are now in a different era. I see Self trying to adapt to fit the times, but I'm sure it feels unnatural to him.
