One of my favorite phog things is how much they love talking about ku "gear" and wearing said "gear" on vacation. Sidenote, I did see a very round couple in head to toe squawk "gear" in a neighborhood near the eiffel tower and had to move into the street to let them pass by on the sidewalk.

I was on vacation a couple weeks ago, wearing a KUFB shirt, and a guy said Rock Chalk. I responded “Jayhawk.” It got me to thinking of times when I’ve said Rock Chalk to a rando wearing a KU shirt and gotten the same (Rock Chalk) back. I’ve been losing sleep about this and replaying the incident over and over in my mind—did I make the right decision by saying Jayhawk? I think I did but am curious if there’s a consensus.
A couple asides: one of the people we traveled with is an OU guy and he got several “Boomer” calls, the response is always “Sooner”—this reinforces my view of the proper KU etiquette.
Also, KSU people are weird. I was riding on the back of a golf cart wearing my KU shirt drinking a 40 of Tecate and a woman yelled at me something about K State and boo KU. I didn’t expect this on a small island in a foreign country.
