I think you misread that.

Yeah, I didn’t mean to sound like the poster was calling him scared, stupid, etc.  I was referring to a small minority of others.

is there a shot still, how much would we pay him? can he really say no to a 3 million dollar raise? toss your sons 250k each if it bothers them that much that he "sold them on clemson" which is also a really weak excuse. but if he's this hard to convince, i'd rather a guy who actually wants to be a successful head coach.

I don’t really believe that. Maybe actual coaches have a different perspective, but if you take like a top 10 job as a new coach your leash will be extremely short. If you can’t have reasonable success at a place like KSU after a few years, you weren’t gonna last more than 3 at the highest profile jobs. So why try skipping straight there?

I don’t really believe that. Maybe actual coaches have a different perspective, but if you take like a top 10 job as a new coach your leash will be extremely short. If you can’t have reasonable success at a place like KSU after a few years, you weren’t gonna last more than 3 at the highest profile jobs. So why try skipping straight there?

Likewise, KSU will most likely have a longer prior of grace than a random SEC school.

Mostly because similar assistants to him are getting better jobs than Kansas State. I don't think KSU is an easier job than Auburn or Florida and anyone in their right mind would choose the higher profile job.

I think Brent is one of those guys that's fat and happy making 2 million a year as a coordinator and not having to put up with the BS that comes with being a hc. He's been pretty declarative on his unwillingness to leave Clemson (especially strong comments since his son is there playing).
