I read that the GOP's internal polling tells them that if they don't get someone confirmed, their midterm voter turnout will be deflated. And, at this point, there isn't enough time to get someone other than Kavanaugh confirmed.

It also seems that a lot of the old white guys in the Senate are extremely rough ridin' indignant about one of their own being victimized by the libs/media/usual enemies of old white guy status quo. So, they want to hold the line.

Bill Clinton's accusers were quite succinct and detailed in terms of what took place, when it took place, and where it took place.  There's a difference.

If you didn't take the time to listen to Sen. Collins speech you should.  She actually used her time during the confirmation timetable to ask Kav what she personally was concerned about AND actually looked at his stellar track record.  They both made her feel comfortable about all the bullshit arguments the Dems had about Kav. and how he might vote in the future.  She further lambasted the Dems on how they treated Dr. Ford, concluded the evidence against Kav was incredibly weak and stated she wasn't dismissing Ford was potentially abused.  I doubt you will though chief.
