I think there was more political gamesmanship from the Libs with this than I would like, but acting like the claim is fictional because she didn't accuse him 36 years ago shows a blatant misunderstanding of sexual assault.  Pretending you can believe she was sexual assaulted but then deciding it wasn't Kavanaugh shows a blatant misunderstanding of sexual assault.  Those senators are just trying to justify their lack of integrity to themselves and/or their constituents.
