That makes a lot more sense. Buttigieg's ad buys went way up after the Liberty and Justice Dinner, and he had a couple of weeks all to himself. Yang just started to appear this week.

This is still (mostly) name recognition at this point, right? There's no way that many people want Sanders to be President...right? Things will start to get interesting after the first primaries.

Self described liberals have two choices, why wouldn't we be interested in the father of the modern progressive movement? It doesn't help that the two moderates in the race are treating liberals as if we're a pox on the party.

The only reason I'm not going to caucus for Sanders is because of his health. I do think he's more electable, because for some reason the anti-establishment voter connects to him stronger than they do Warren, which is baffling to me.
I mean you seem to see a difference between Bernie and Liz and maybe the anti-establishment folks think Bernie's health is worth what he brings  with policy relative to Liz.

I don't see the least bit of policy difference and neither does Bernie. He always answers, "well for starters she says she is a capitalist," then never actually points out any policy differences. Some ardent Bernie Bros on twitter hates Warren because "her ideas are stolen."

I am fully on the #YangGang, even though it is a lost cause

Don't be so sure. Everyone keeps pointing to where Obama was at this point in '07. If that person exists it will be Yang. His campaign is the only one right now that can match the energy of Pete's, he'll need to turn than energy into a strong, organized ground game, who'll work their asses off to get the word out instead of walking around cosplaying. He's also starting to spend quite a bit of money here. I think his play to go after msnbc was good because it will make the moderators of the December debate more aware of slighting him. That's if he makes the debate, he's close but isn't polling well enough yet. If he doesn't make it the DNC should be flogged, as he's clearly viable. There's also this

https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/28/bernie-sanders-andrew-yang-gang-2020-057985

I hope so. I made my first presidential campaign contribution this week in hopes of helping him qualify for the debate. I’ve really enjoyed Yang in long form interviews on podcasts, but he isn’t all that well equipped to make a splash with 2 minutes of talking time over 2 hours. Not that anyone is.

That’s an interesting article, I think the anti-establishment lane connection for Sanders and Yang is real.

Yeah their policies aren’t really aligned, but the one thing Yang and Sanders definitely share is coming off as genuine in their beliefs. It’s really tough to feel that way about most politicians. I legit think Sanders was the only one on either side of the 2016 field.

Regardless of whether or not you consider what she said a lie, it's kind of funny that Warren's kid attended a private school.

How so?
I mean, at surface level (which is as far as I've gone on this), that move falls pretty far to the right on the socialist/capitalist spectrum -- which is unexpected given how far to the left on that spectrum Warren falls on most other issues.

I’m not sure about that. It’s like the (dumb) criticism of Bernie for being rich. You can advocate for changes in policies you think will bring societal good while availing yourself of the best available options in the current society.  You can think that public schools would be better if there were no private schools, but still send your kids to private school to get the best education under the current system.

Yeah I wasn't trying to do a deep dive of it.  It's like when Trump's MAGA hats were being made in China.  I just think it's funny.  I also think it's funny that she isn't being completely forthright about it.

All that said, IDGAF about it.  It's a non-issue.

She used to be a Pub iirc

yeah, she was a garden variety 'pub when her children were in school, so it seems pretty on brand.  the weirder thing to me is sending your two children to different schools.  i'd like the campaign to explain that, but they probably think saying anything just keeps the story alive longer.

Oh. Well knowing that she was a 'pub at the time makes it less funny.  Thanks guys.

It's not weird at all. I'm sure money came into play when her son went to private school. She was a law professor at UT and had been for a couple of years when her son started private school. Her daughter was also already in high school at the time, I'm sure she decided she was good at whatever Austin area high school she was at, I'm sure it was a good one.

Ya know, the fact that billionaires are coming out of the woodwork to run against Trump makes him more attractive for reelection.

He literally gave hundreds of millions in tax breaks to line their pockets with those tax cuts.

I don't know what threat(s) he poses to these billionaires, but it's enough to get them to run against him.
