for some reason I love seeing MiR's soccer lingo

Radio guys love to talk about how the biggest obstacle to soccer in the US is "US soccer guy." I agree and think MIR would be an excellent alternative.

I would still slap the crap out of MiR if he ever called a pair of cleats "boots" in front of me.

Its ingrained, my best man is british and most of the soccer I have played as an adult was with Euros. Sorry  :frown:

I like saying are instead of is. Kansas City has found itself in first place sounds worse than Kansas City has found themselves in first place

Where do you stand on "kit"?

you can't just have it all or nothing.

"sporting kc have done well here" = borderline but i'll allow it

"player X had to replace a boot" = not acceptable. the british love the word boot. look how many random things they describe by using boot:

British English:
an actual boot
a shoe for playing football/soccer with cleats on it
the rear area of a car that holds crap
an ugly old person

Merican English:
an actual boot

i love when the lads work together and produce a beautiful run-of-play on the pitch. when everyone can take advantage of the physio on the training staff and put in a proper shift every single match, that's when we'll have a successful campaign. kind of depends on using the right boots too. don't want anyone to pick up a knock just because they are striking the ball with the wrong boots.

You know what's weird? Why do all soccer players (Americans included) call "practice" "training?" Is there a difference? I don't think so.. :runaway:

USA roster will be released this afternoon at 1pm. I'm not sure if we'll see Dempsey. Didn't travel to Colorado for last night's game. Sounds like he's the reason why the announcement has been delayed.

Even though we've already qualified, I'm very much looking forward to being at Sporting Park next Friday night. :D
