Responses haven't been made by anyone a party cared about getting elected (any time soon) in a long time. Everyone knows the SOTU response is an automatic loser. He certainly wasn't picked as a "rising star", maybe as someone decent enough that in 20 years, no one will care that he did a response speech, I guess

Well, thanks dax, glad to educate. I figured it was obvious, but we have people on this board who say dumb crap all the time on everything from oscar to preferable outdoor temperatures, so how am I supposed to tell when KSUdub is or isn't serious on an insult toward Dems?

What's you're preferable outdoor temp? I'll describe my preferable temp day as one that starts a bit chilly, but not too much,m but then turns into about a 75 or so degree day, with a nice breeze and a fantastic sunset.

I thought it was pretty darn bi-partisan. He is turning left on immigration and paid leave. I am sure more than a few of his supporters are PISSED about the path to citizenship

i think i figured out all the people that were picking incomprehensible temps. they don't actually know what temperature it is! they probably see the high for the day and then they walk outside at like 7 am and they're like, "hey, this is pretty nice. i guess 90 F is a comfortable temperature."

Yes. If Trump rolls over on the immigration issues the way he is they lose that issue. The "CEOs make 300 times what the worker makes" line is like 20 years old now and doesn't work.

Nobody saying they like 90+ degree weather is actually outside doing anything during the heat of the day. Nobody.

Kennedy’s speech was good but still pretty damn partisan for what was supposed to be a unifying speech. Lowlight of the night for me was Trump trotting out the parents of murdered children to make the point that immigrants are dangerous cause they could be in gangs.

Otherwise completely expected, long, boring SOU.
