Let's face it, people in Alabama certainly don't want an education so of course they'll have high out-of-state numbers.

Looks at UA instate enrollment . . . very close to K-State's total undergraduate enrollment
That couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that Alabama has 2 million more residents than KS  :dubious:

A study released Tuesday showing state schools focus on recruiting out-of-state students from white, wealthy areas labeled the University of Alabama as an “extreme case” of the trend.

When state funding for public universities decreases, those institutions recoup the shortfall by recruiting out-of-state students, whose tuition can range from double to three times as much as in-state tuition
https://www.al.com/news/2019/03/ua-is-extreme-case-of-state-schools-recruiting-out-of-state-residents-report-finds.html

Plus:
1. It's probably harder for these out-of-state students to get accepted to good schools in their home state.
2. Alabama provides a discount on out-of-state tuition.

That said, I don't see how any of that makes the poll any more or less embarrassing.

In state university smack talk is where dax is going now? Because the state has nothing else relevant? Priceless!

So do a ton of other public universities, like K-State for example.

WackyTuck:  Space Command (for now anyway) says suck it.

I'll assume none of you are engaged in the Gulf Shores vacation thread on KSO.

Kansas:  Making a case against staycations for over 200 years

I did see that Missourah equaled Alabama in tourist dollars, I guess porn, walnut bowls and Nashville's dumpster is a big draw

Oh, look at you name dropper.

Imagine being such a townie/regionalist that any and all nice things said about other places, things and sports team absolutely enrages a person (see also WackyTuck)

Join me on the rising tide lifting all of our collective boats bandwagon WackyTuck.  It's a lot more fun and fulfilling.

My cousin got married in Destin, so I assume that's pretty similar to the Alabama's 30 miles of coast. Not really a fan, reminded me of ocean branson but more redneck and less Jesus

"old fashioned who lives in a bigger hole shithole off" aside I will say irl I've enjoyed Dax's university attendance stats and they make me reminiscent for a time when he'd just take down KU with enrollment/budget/etc. stuff like nobody's business. BITB.

Is it really just 30 miles?  Huh...I always thought it was bigger than that.

My apologies. I was 2 miles short on my guess. It's pretty much a less trashy Padre Island.

You've left off Dauphin Island.

Nothing  :curse: :curse: :curse: enrages WackyTuck more then someone saying good things about any place besides Kansas City.

It's a shitty state but I go sponge off my bro and visit their really beautiful beaches.  (I pick up some walnut bowls and take in a show at Branson on my way there) . . . wackytuck-Extreme Townie

Nobody says nice things about any place but Kansas City on WackyTucks watch, nobody

There's little doubt that on college road trips WackyTuck (Extreme Townie) was the dude in the group who was pissing and moaning the whole time about how it wasn't any fun and that MHK was a lot better.  Then someone in the group would say (insert team name here) was good and WackyTuck would just lose it.

Townie who lived in 6 different states growing up?   Tap out, bud! Going down there in college sucked. There was nobody my age. It's a family tourist trap. I'm a very respectful person tho, so I acted grateful, because my family was together. Sorry it's not fitting your narrative.  :frown:

You go to the Florida side to party tho!

Dragging Dax's ass all across this board the past two days has been exhausting. How do you guys do this daily?
